Community Gathering on 2nd July - Darul Ummah New Project - Moving Forward


May the Peace and Blessings of God Almighty be upon you.

It has been a great pleasure to inform you that Darul Ummah has attained the planning permission for the Redevelopment of the Darul Ummah Community Centre at 56 Bigland Street, London E1 2ND.

The development consists of the demolition of the existing buildings and erection of an Eleven Storey building - a fit-for-purpose community centre for all communities providing:

  • Female Only Student Accommodation
  • Female only Prayer Hall
  • Female only Youth Room
  • Second Mosque in the UK to give Three Times Adhan 
  • Increased capacity for Main Prayer Hall
  • Crèche
  • Disability Access to the centre
  • Funeral Facility
  • Youth Corner
  • Gymnasium
  • Play Space for children
  • Project Rooms
  • Increase Capacity for Secondary School - from 150 students to 300 students
  • Increase Capacity for Evening School - from 160 pupils up to 246 pupils
  • Cafeteria & Garden Court
  • Multi Purpose Hall

To mark this attainment, we are going to arrange a special Community Gathering on Friday 2nd July 2010 at Darul Ummah Centre to exhibit the approved Planning of Darul Ummah Centre and to inform you of the progress of the Development Project which is an unique project in its kind. We will also take the opportunity to consult you on the best way to move forward.

All community members are cordially invited to join this programme on Friday 2nd of July 2010.
