Unwind successfully organised an Eventful Bazaar 2010
Unwind Summer School has been holding an annual bazaar for many years now and each time has successfully raised money for various causes. This year the Bazaar was aimed at raising funds to go towards the redevelopment project of Darul Ummah and Alhamdulillah, what an eventful day it was! The room was full of excited children running here and there, desperately trying to decide on which cake they fancied. The older sisters hastened towards the hijabs and accessories stalls, whilst the mothers crowded around the hot food stall ordering their samosas and pakoras. A while later a queue lined up at the stage eagerly awaiting to put mendhi on. Other stalls included salwar kameezes, personalised canvases, books, CD’s and even pillowcases! All in all a very successful event with over 500 attendees. By the Grace of Allah, Unwind Bazaar this year raised a total of £703.10.
Before I end however, I believe much gratitude is due to the those that helped make the Bazaar run smoothly. First of all, sincere praise is due to sister Marzina for her assistance and continuous support prior to and during the bazaar. A huge thank you to the Unwind Catering Team and to Class 4 for their hard work throughout the day. Also, much appreciation to Inaya for sponsoring us by providing a raffle prize of £100 worth jilbab. Last but not least, a huge acknowledgment to Invite Media for designing and printing the Bazaar leaflets. It was a pleasure coordinating Unwind Bazaar this year and by the will of Allah I will be present next year to see the bazaar thrive once again.
